CABAC AS A NON FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION PROMOTES UNITY, EDUCATION AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY.
1/
* DETAILED ACTIVITIES OF CABAC
1)- CABAC Promotes Mass Education without any kind of Discrimination
We provide help for students by providing good advices and assistance for their registration, their choice of classes, their part or full time job and the best location to find an apartment.
CABAC encourages Education by giving a three hundred dollars reward to every member that graduates or anyone in the community that sought our help during the course of their studies and that finally graduates.
In the future, when we have enough funds, CABAC plans to give scholarships and help students in their requests for scholarships in various institutions. With its expansion and more members, CABAC is planning to offer free tutoring to elementary, high school and college students.
CABAC will have a little library of books and tapes for test-preparation such as the Prep test, ACT, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE and Dictionaries (English, French, Spanish, English-French, and English-Spanish) and any material to help learn The English Language . . . for anyone to borrow.
2)- CABAC promotes cultural education
Up until now: CABAC has organized soccer tournaments with teams representing
other countries and other associations to promote CABAC and its benefits;
-
CABAC has trained kids to play professional soccer, many members
of CABAC are very good soccer players (Cameroon is one of the Best in Soccer in Africa and its soccer has been recognized around the world); and one of our board member Mr. Bouba, is an International Soccer Referee and Trainer.
-
CABAC Introduces new food and taste from Cameroon and Africa
through Social events involving a diversity of nationalities; CABAC does barbecues and picnics for everyone interested in Cameroonian food, music and culture.
-
CABAC has organized gala nights in celebration of Cameroon’s
Independence Day (May 20th) where we invited anyone interested in the activities of our org. and who wishes to donate money for its growth and promotion. Our last party raised a total of $ 6,000 for our fundraising.
In the future, CABAC plans to:
- Help in solving the crucial problem of hunger in Africa; - Participate in raising AIDS awareness among young people here in the USA and in Africa
- We desire to contribute for the fight against cancer and diabetes In the U.S. and in Africa - Teach people how to play, listen and understand Cameroonian drums; - Inform people here in America about Cameroon culture, politics, economy and geography. - Educate people about creating their own business, about how to correctly pay their taxes, about the advantages of owning their own real estate, about the advantages of knowing many languages, many countries . . . We are planning to have a guest speaker at least once every three months at our meetings that will present an educational, scientific, economic or cultural topic.
3)- CABAC provides assistance for the neediest in the community
A-
We provide support in time of crisis (e.g., death, sickness) when a
member of our association or any individual in difficulties ask for our help. In the case of death of a parent, a son/daughter or a spouse, we donate some money to help with the funeral ($700.00) we also provide moral assistance according to our Cameroonian’s customs, on the day of the burial, we organize a wake where we pray, sing religious songs, and stay with the person in crisis for hours. We asked to the person to tell us about the person that died, and everyone in the audience that wishes to, will also tell us about a similar experience that they have had and how they could deal with it. This usually helps the person in crisis to stop crying and start accepting what has happen. Our moral support is our most powerful strength in CABAC.
B-
We provide support in time of happiness (e.g., wedding, birth,
graduation) where we offer gifts that represent our culture and also provide
financial help ($500.00 for a wedding, $300.00 for a birth, $300 for a graduation . . .). So far, we have helped, plan and participate at four weddings (Mr. & Mrs. Scray, Mr. & Mrs. Nkoumondo, Mr. & Mrs. Bodo and recently Mr. & Mrs. Ndjeng). We have celebrated the birth of more than 10 babies as we have an average of four babies born each year in CABAC.
In the future we plan to:
A- Donate food shelters B- Help orphans and sick/disabled children C- Donate our services to any organization that help to fight AIDS
* How we will implement our activities
Our website (http://www.cabac.org ) will be a powerful tool to inform people about our educational activities, the help we provide and the knowledge the community can gain by participating or by being interested in our culture. Most of our cultural activities will be implemented through social events that CABAC organizes throughout the year (parties, barbecues, picnics). The information will be listed on our website including the dates and places where we will organize these events. About our assistance to members and to the community, we will be contacted through our phone line or our website /e-mail in order to prepare and provide help the best way we can to people in need. We will also contact some charity organizations in order to request a list of some neediest of our community who are qualified to receive assistance.
* Percentage of time for each activity (100%)
-
We currently meet once every month (on the third Sunday of every month
from 2:00 p.m. to at least 4:00 p.m.) to plan and schedule coming activities of our association. We also have extraordinary meetings especially around a big event (at least two extraordinary meetings/event). The meetings and planning are very important and take about 15% of time spent for our activities preparations. Our cultural activities like soccer, parties and fund raising takes about 30%
of time for the activities we do because one of our main goals is to bring more diversity to our group and provide more support and help among the community. Our educational activities account for 25% because CABAC also values
education of children and adults. Our goal is to have every kid that gets in touch with CABAC make the Honor Roll of his Classroom or even more his school. The support in critical time of crisis and happiness takes about 30% of time
spent on activities mostly because CABAC is a public charity that seeks to help its members as well as its community as much as possible.

Financial Data.
This was a miswriting error, we apologize. The first column is for the tax year from
01/01/05 To 12/31/05, the second column is for the tax year from 01/01/06 To 12/31/06 (the one we skipped by error), and the third column is for the tax year from 01/01/07 To 12/31/07 and the forth and last column is for the tax year from 01/01/08 to 12/31/08. Line 16 represents the disbursements to members. In fact, in November 2005, our association wanted to do a fundraising party at the Mr. G’s Entertainment Center at the 1547 W 87th street. Our association did not get enough money to organize the fundraising, so our members put extra money together in order to fund the party. At the end, this money was disbursed to them.

Line 20 represents our lease projection in the future. We did not pay any lease for our meetings in the tax year from 01/01/05 to 12/31/05 because we held the meetings at our members’ home. For the next tax years as we expect our members to increase, we do a provision of $ 150 / month for the rent of our meeting hall that means $1,800 / year.
Line 2 represents our membership fees. The amount was $100 / member. Membership fees

Line 14 represents the fundraising expenses. Our organization spent $6,000 for that event. We had to rent the hall, decorate the hall, pay a DJ (disk joker), make a lot of foods from different counties, provide drinks to our guests, and print some flyers. We hosted about 300 people during that event. We also had to organize a soccer tournament, provide cups for the winning team and fair play team. At the same time we hosted a barbecue while the games were going on.
