EPIDERMA CONTINUES ITS TREMENDOUS GROWTH WITH
A 24% JUMP IN SALES IN 2004
QUEBEC COMPANY PLANS TO INVEST BETWEEN $1.5 AND $2 MILLION DOLLARS IN 2005

Montreal, Feb. 1, 2005 — With a 24% increase in sales over the previous year, 2004 was a watershed year for
EPIDERMA, which in a span of just five years has become the leading laser hair removal specialist in the province
of Quebec.

EPIDERMA president Pierre Montminy, who bought the company in January, 2003 said that sales in the last two years
have risen by 60% to reach close to $10 million. “All of the professionals in the EPIDERMA network are thrilled by
these results, because they are a reflection of the company’s strong reputation, the enthusiasm of its personnel and the
response of our clients to our ongoing measures to make our services more accessible to the general public,” added
Mr. Montminy.

Expanding its operations, not only in larger centres but throughout the regions, continues to be one of EPIDERMA‘s
prime objectives. Two new clinics were opened in 2004, in Terrebonne (Lachenaie sector) and Quebec City
(Charlesbourg sector). Some 15 treatment centres joined the network, as well, bolstering the company’s ability to
respond to the needs of a constantly expanding clientele. The company currently serves 145 communities in 14 Quebec
regions through its 16 clinics, 50 treatment centres and 175 partners around the province. Twenty-five new jobs were
created in 2004, bringing the company’s overall total to more than 130.

EPIDERMA is planning to invest between $1.5 and $2 million in 2005, with the money to go towards consolidating its
holdings, purchasing new state-of-the-art equipment and further developing its network of outlets. Among the more
immediate projects are the renovation of three clinics – downtown Montreal, Saint-Léonard and Villeray, and the
expansion of the Sherbrooke and Ste-Dorothée facilities.

The other major initiative in 2005 will be the opening of three new EPIDERMA clinics in Ontario, marking the
company’s first expansion outside of the Quebec market. “The experience and expertise we have acquired is extensive
and it’s exportable,“ explained Mr. Montminy. “We conducted an in-depth marketing study and we believe the time
is ripe for us to launch our business in Ontario. The first phase of the expansion will focus on the Kingston and Ottawa
regions, with Ottawa opening two clinics.”

The company’s business plan is compatible with its efforts to make esthetical care accessible to the public at large by
safe, gentle and fast treatments from highly-trained technicians using leading-edge technological equipment.

The company also has other projects that it is planning to introduce in 2005. These include a new skin-care service and
upgrading its computer central appointment and transactional systems.

EPIDERMA earned further distinction in 2004 by winning two Fidéides awards, given by the Quebec Entrepreneurs
Chamber of Commerce, for excellence in the categories of “Distribution and services“ and “Optics and photonics
application“.

Founded in 2000, EPIDERMA, whose head office is in Ste-Foy, Quebec, is a pioneer in the laser hair removal industry,
exemplifying the vibrant Quebec entrepreneurial spirit.
