TANGELO FINE FOODS OPENS NEW BRIGHTON STORE
Long-time Toorak foodie favourite Tangelo Fine Foods™ is celebrating the opening of its second gourmet food
store. The new Brighton outlet follows 17 years in Toorak serving some of Melbourne’s most delectable take-
home dinners and desserts to generations of satisfied customers across the southern and eastern suburbs and
beyond.

The much-anticipated expansion – expected to be the first of many - is the work of new owners and food
devotees Deborah Jones and David Leitch, who have been quietly stoking Tangelo Fine Foods’ reputation for
quality fare by refining and expanding menus since buying the business three years ago.

Chefs who create the dishes in Tangelo’s own kitchen each day now come from a variety of Melbourne’s most
in-demand restaurants, including Fenix, The Trust, Fifteen, Radii at Park Hyatt, The Windsor and upstairs at St
Kilda’s iconic Stokehouse as part of a new vision from Deborah and David to bring the highest restaurant quality
to each of the 466 different dishes on their menu.

The dishes, which include core Tangelo favourites and others that change every day, span gourmet sandwiches,
canapés, soups, petit fours, casseroles, dinner party entrees, mains and sides, salads, store items, slices and
indulgences including tarts, biscuits, desserts and wickedly decadent cakes.

Among the 37 different flavours of soup are a homestyle spinach pea and mint, tomato and basil, pear and
parsnip and Italian proscuitto. The 35 salads and 31 casseroles on offer also mix traditional favourites – think
coleslaw, tabouleh, osso bucco, goulash and coq au vin – with more exotic offerings such as Moroccan lima
bean salad, smoked trout potato salad, spicy lamb tagine and the tenderest of curries with an Indian or Thai
bent.

There’s also old-fashioned comfort foods such as macaroni cheese, bolognaise, shepherd’s pie and lasagne as
well as Tangelo Fine Foods’ signature chicken log – tender poached chicken breast and delicately sliced leeks
in Tangelo’s own trademarked secret creamy sauce and encased in a flaky puff pastry.

“Tangelo is all about fine foods. Whether it’s something as simple as our classic pumpkin soup or our famous
chicken log, or a more daring combination like our carrot, coriander and coconut soup, our chefs only use the
finest, freshest ingredients,” Deborah says. “Of course, it’s also the ultimate take away food because it tastes
like you have spent hours cooking it yourself.”

Tangelo Fine Foods always has a wide range of dishes ready-to-go from both stores but customers can also
place special or bulk orders. Catering is available for dinner parties, cocktail parties and other events. Both
stores also carry an extensive range of premium gluten free dishes. A home delivery service is expected soon.

Tangelo Fine Foods is at 531 Malvern Rd, Toorak and at 115 Church St, Brighton. To find out more, visit
