LaTrobe College of Art and Design is a renowned, independent college and key provider of

Teaching Staff
Since the college’s inception in 1995 LaTrobe College of Art & Design has consistently
produced highly developed, successful students. The quality and diversity of art work produced
by students and the quickness with which many have developed over a short period has long
been acknowledged. Many students have achieved extensive success through prizes, exhibitions
and offers to select undergraduate and postgraduate universities both here and overseas. All of
these accomplishments are a testament to the high level of teaching and visiting artists that the
college has attracted over the years. These have included Greg Ades, Micky Allan,

Diploma of Visual Arts. Students study both practical and theoretical subjects
in studio, painting methods & techniques, sculpture, drawing, modernism &
contemporary art history & theory, photography and digital media and design.
Students are encouraged to pursue individual directions whilst learning a           Subjects

Student Opportunities

& student exhibitions
The college has an onsite gallery with a history of established artists and
students exhibiting. This provides a unique opportunity for students to test out
ideas and learn practical skills for exhibiting in the future.
The gallery is available for student exhibition projects. the gallery also has a
program of supporting past students and graduates through exhibitions of their
work. There are ongoing projects and exhibitions throughout the year which
students are invited to participate in.



Queensberry Street Studios
The college has an off-site studio complex that is available to students            New York Trip

Clunes Regional Exhibition
LaTrobe College of Art and Design also has a regional site in Clunes, Victoria.
Each year the students take a trip out to the country and participate in a group
show and spend time outside of the classroom environment. The experience
allows students to exhibit work in a gallery and work together learning about
exhibiting practices. The experience is always a highlight of the year and allows
students to experiment with a new space and also enjoy the experience of
taking art to a small regional town.
