Course overview:
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift, including checking forklift condition, driving the forklift
to fulfill operational requirements, monitoring site conditions, and monitoring and maintaining forklift performance.
Operation of a forklift must be carried out in compliance with the license requirements and regulations of the relevant state/
territory authority.
Operation of a forklift is performed under some supervision, generally within a team environment. It involves the application of
routine equipment operation principles and procedures to maintain the safety and operation of a forklift in a variety of

Dress
A minimum standard of clothing consisting of short trousers, sleeved shirt and fully enclosed footwear is required.
Failure to wear the correct clothing may result in training being refused.
Pre-requisites
The participant must be 18 years or above. Knowledge of relevant duty of care requirements pertaining to the operation of a
forklift. Knowledge of relevant OH&S and environmental procedures and regulations, Knowledge of Workplace operating
procedures.

Assessments
Participants are assessed by our qualified facilitators based upon their level of participation in addition to
written assessments and practical observations. Assessment of this unit will usually be undertaken within
a licensing examination conducted under the authority of NT Worksafe

This course is held at Top End Training - 2/104 McKinnon Road, Pinelands.

PLEASE READ CONDITIONS CAREFULLY

2. Cancellation must be received in writing no less than 5 working days prior to the course or the full
cost of the course will be charged.
3. Another participant may be substituted if the nominated person is unable to attend.
4. TCA endeavours to run all courses but reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course.
5. Certification will not be issued until full payment has been received for the course.
6. Late arrivals will be accepted at the facilitators discretion, if refused will be classified as a late
cancellation and charged accordingly
