Dear Fellow Pool Enjoyers_ Spring is finally here The days are by abstraks

									                    Dear Fellow Pool Enjoyers,

Spring is finally here. The days are getting a little longer and a little warmer, the snow is almost all
gone, the birds are coming back, Bard has sent out its summer camp schedule and thoughts of spending time
at the pool are returning from their faded memories. We have already started to prepare our pool for summer
enjoyment and look forward to another successful season. As always, we would appreciate your input and
suggestions on what we can do to make the pool more enjoyable. We would also appreciate your volunteer
efforts to help us out. We have tentatively scheduled a work day for clean up and opening preparation for
Saturday, May 17th. Additionally, in-person swim lesson sign up will also be available on that date from
Kevin Storrs and Catherine Blake will be running our swim lessons again this year. There has been
quite a bit of positive feedback for our lesson program, and we look forward to another year of safer
swimming. The lesson sign up will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to include your
lesson request and payment with your prompt payment of your membership dues. There will be four lesson
sessions available and time slots for all ages through age 15. Please see the lesson information included in
this newsletter.
In addition to lessons and coaching, Kevin Storrs will again be our Pool Director. We also anticipate
the return of many of the great lifeguards that we had last year, and possibly some new faces as well. The
Board looks forward to working with our talented staff for a successful summer.
There have been some Board changes that have occurred during the past year. Due to personal
reasons, Dave Cavotti has stepped down from his position as President; I have stepped in as his replacement.
Anja Loeffel has graciously agreed to serve as Vice President and Mary Pat Davies and Joe Brisley will
thankfully continue their service as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. I would also like to recognize the
continued volunteer efforts of Bernadette Reilly and Raina Kattleson. Additionally, I would like to extend a
“thank you for your service” to Maria Lewis, as she leaves the Board and a “welcome to the fun” to Craig
Christensen, as he has agreed to serve on the Board. The efforts put forth by these individuals and other
members of the community who have stepped up and contributed their time should be recognized. From
taking care of the plants and landscaping to picking up trash, these thankless tasks are truly appreciated and
help make our pool a nicer, more enjoyable place to be.
Another welcome anticipated change for this summer will be in our snack bar. Kate Cavotti has
tentatively agreed to run the snack bar and we look forward to the addition of her culinary expertise in that
endeavor. Thank you, Kate.
We are expecting to undergo some improvements to our filter room and pool house, but we would
like your assistance in maintaining our facilities as well.
As we have done for the last several years, we are expecting to be open on weekends in June and then
open for our regular schedule when school is out. For updated information please check our website at, or call the pool at 758 – 8424. We look forward to a great season and we hope to see you
at the pool!

Swimmingly Yours,

Drew Brooks
Pool Board President
