Moved Crs Siviour/Foxwell that Council erect adequate signage on Nield
Road to warn approaching motorists of the narrowing road ahead.

18.1 Lifebuoys Arno Bay Jetty
Moved Crs Jones/Siviour that following advice received from LGAMLS and
in view of advice received from the District Council of Yorke Peninsula in
relation to the supply of lifebuoys on jetties, Council remove the lifebuoy
from the Arno Bay Jetty and publicize its removal. CARRIED

23.1 District Council of Streaky Bay – IEM2009134 – inviting feedback from
Council on holding a regional training session with Wallmans Lawyers in
attendance to cover various topics.
23.2 South Australian Fire & Emergency Commission – ILE2009667 – advising
Council that SA Country Fire Service wish to build new stations for the
Rudall & Tuckey CFS brigades and have chosen two sites.
Moved Crs Jones/Siviour that Council agree to the following sites for
construction of new CFS stations.
Rudall – portion of Section 72 Hundred of Rudall (CR5755/167).

23.3 Native Vegetation Council – ILE2009730 – asking Council to comment on
a Native Vegetation Clearance application for Lots 91 & 92 Hundred of

would like to progress with the proposed water scheme.
Moved Crs Jones/Elleway that, in lieu of Council receiving a Community
Grant Application from the Cleve Districts Bowling Club Inc, it defer its
decision on the water scheme for the Bowling Club/Centenary Park.
23.5 City of Charles Sturt – ILE2009727 – asking Council to provide in principle
support to lobby relevant authorities to implement driver safety education
in South Australian secondary schools.
Moved Crs Elleway/Siviour that the District Council of Cleve provide in
principle support to The City of Charles Sturt, to lobby the State
Government to implement driver safety education in South Australian
secondary schools. CARRIED
23.6 Karen Patterson – ILE2009741 – Agreement for Sale & Purchase & the
Deed of Assignment relating to the sale of 16 Stubing Street.
Moved Crs Siviour/Foxwell that pursuant to Section 38(1) of the Local
Government Act 1999, Council authorise the Mayor and Chief Executive
Officer to affix the Common Seal to the Agreement for Sale and
Purchase and the Deed of Assignment of 16 Stubing Street, Cleve

School/Community Library Board.

23.9 Arno Bay Progress Association Inc – ILE2009760- advising Council that
they along with Arno Bay Community Groups are willing to contribute to
the cost of the Pedestrian/Cycle footpath project at Arno Bay.
Moved Crs Siviour/Elleway that Council advise the Arno Bay Progress
Association Inc that Council gratefully accepts its offer to co-fund the

23.10 Cleve & Districts Tourism Action Group - ILE2009759 - seeking Councils
approval on behalf of the Legends Festival Committee to close a
section of road along Darke Terrace from Howard Street to John Street
for the purpose of events being held on Saturday 3 October 2009.
Moved Crs Elleway/Foxwell that Council arrange for the closure of Darke
Terrace, Darke Peak from Howard Street to John Street for the purpose of
the Darke Peak Legends Festival on Saturday 3 October. CARRIED
23.11 Hon Gail Gago MLC – ILE2009767 – advising the Local Government
Grants Commission’s recommendation for the distribution of the
Commonwealth Financial Assistance Grants to Council for 2009-2010
23.12 Diana Laube Secretary Eyre Peninsula Local Government Association –
regarding various items discussed at Friday 4 September 2009 Eyre
Peninsula Local Government Association meeting.
23.12.1 Sector Agreement Re: Climate Change
Moved Crs Jones/Siviour that Council support the Eyre Peninsula Local
Government Association in signing the Eyre Peninsula Regional Sector
Agreement entered into pursuant to the Climate Change &
Greenhouse Emissions Reduction Act 2007. CARRIED
23.12.2 Better Service Delivery Project
Moved Crs Siviour/Elleway that Council register its interest in participating
in a Regional Human Resources project and a short term sub-regional
waste project for the Eastern Eyre group. CARRIED
23.12.3 Eyre Peninsula Be Active Field Officer
Moved Crs Siviour/Elleway that Council continue to support the position
of Eyre Peninsula Be Active Field Officer. CARRIED
23.13 District Council of Cleve – comparison costs of Cleve Verran Road
upgrade and new.
Moved Crs Jones/Siviour that this item lay on the table. CARRIED
23.14 Craig Walker Director Pringles Ag Plus – seeking a temporary exemption
from Council to allow an employee to live in a caravan on a residential

reside in a caravan on a residential allotment as this directly contradicts
Council’s Development Plan. The District Council of Cleve Development
Plan, Residential Development, Principles of Development Control (4)
which states “vans, caravans or tents should not be used as permanent

dwellings on any allotments except for those within caravan parks and
camping grounds”. CARRIED
23.15 Michelle Shrubsole – seeking Council permission to live in a caravan on a
Rural Living allotment in Arno Bay whilst planning to develop that same

to reside on their rural living allotment for a period of up to twelve months
from February 2010 whilst their residence is being constructed, provided
that an appropriately approved shed including shower, toilet and laundry
