The Vintage Sports Car Club of WA (Inc.) A.B.N. 49 845 981 838 THE VSCC’S CAVERSHAM HISTORIC MOTORING FAIR. 15th NOVEMBER 2009. Welcome to the home of the Vintage Sports Car Club of W.A. Thank you for your interest in attending and supporting this event. At this time 23 motoring clubs have committed themselves to take part. We look forward to your club’s participation WHY A HISTORIC MOTORING FAIR? The aim of the event is to showcase to the public the many different motoring clubs with historic links, which exist in W.A. HOW ARE WE GOING TO ENSURE THIS AIM IS MET? The event is to be held at Caversham Aerodrome which has special historic significance for motoring in W.A. (This venue attracted 7000 spectators to our 2007 event.) The VSCC will conduct an extensive advertising campaign leading up to the Fair. The emphasis will be to make this a family day with entertainment for kids, wives girlfriends. Food and drinks will be available WHAT COMMITMENT DOES YOUR CLUB NEED TO MAKE TO PARTICIPATE? You need to set up a display that will give the members of the public an understanding of what your club has to offer. You will be allocated an area along the main straight of the old circuit. Clubs might want to set up a marque, have cars on display, videos running, with tee shirts, literature and membership forms to hand out. Each club will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their vehicles in motion by driving around the historic “D” circuit. A prepared commentary will accompany each club’s demonstration lap. An Autokana will be conducted for those who like to compete. A “Come and Try” licence will be available for those who would like the opportunity to sample motor sport. WHAT WILL IT COST? A display site on the main straight will cost $50.00 and club members will be charged an entry fee of $5.00 per car regardless of how many passengers are carried. Our aim is to ensure the preservation of the Caversham Aerodrome’s motoring history for future generations of Western Australians. The Historic Motoring Fair is a way of drawing the attention of the public and motoring organisations to the significance of the site to make sure this happens. Rob Ozanne.
