"CASTLE HILL PATHFINDER CLUB"
CASTLE HILL PATHFINDER CLUB Pathfinders—The “Way To Go” for 10-16 year olds Pathfinders meets an average of twice a month for club meetings, campouts and service activities where members learn to explore nature, do Pathfinder honours and pursuits that promote Christian principles. Parents and siblings are invited to join with the Pathfinders in Social and Service activities. Pathfinder Dress Uniform is the Pathfinder Green tailored skirts/trousers with belt loops to hold the Pathfinder belt for both guys and girls and the Akubra Pathfinder hat. The hat will be supplied for hire by the club. The uniform is available from the Adventist Book Centre at Epping. We hope to have some trousers/skirts for hire. The Castle Hill Club T-Shirt /Polo Shirt will also need to be purchased through the club. An official Pathfinder Journal will be provided to record what has been explored during 2010. The program includes Pathfinder Honours for which embroidered tokens are given for display on the uniform. Honours in 2010 vary according to the Pathfinder’s class curriculum. A Craft Honour fee of $20 per Pathfinder is requested to cover the cost of craft/honour materials. This cost is included in the Registration Fee. Pathfinders will need to plan for 4 campouts in 2010, which includes the Conference Expedition on the first weekend of September/October school holidays. This event has a separate fee structure. The standard camp fee is $10 per camp per person and is not included in the Registration Fee. However, if we go to a special camping area and the National Park fees are higher, this higher cost will be charged for the camp fee. Service activities will include Clean-Up-Australia, the ADRA Appeal, and a Service Trip to Vanuatu during July 2010 school holidays. We are also planning to attend the Australia-wide Pathfinder Camporee in January 2011. Castle Hill Pathfinder Club has become a Registered Operator for the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. This means that those who would like to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards can register to do so through the Pathfinder club. This means that some club events can be used for Dukes requirements.
