          ATTENTION WORLD SOLAR CHALLENGE RACE TEAMS
As many of our loyal customers will know, Australian Energy Research Laboratories (AERL)
has supplied in excess of 1000 specialised solar racing car MAXIMIZERSTM since 1987 to more
than 300 different teams worldwide, including over 60 of the world’s leading universities.

In fact, over 75% of teams used AERL MAXIMIZERSTM in both the Australian World Solar
Challenges and the US Solar Car Races between 1993 and 2007.

Due to the sad passing in June last year of Stuart Watkinson, the principal of AERL and inventor
the AERL MAXIMIZERTM, AERL was temporarily unable to supply solar racing car teams.

AERL can now, however, supply again and for teams who act quickly, in time for the World
Solar Challenge 18th - 25th October 2009.

We are pleased to inform you that AERL can immediately take orders for the new AERL 600W
BOOST RACE-TRIM MINI-MAXIMIZERTM. The new 600W BOOST, replaces the 400W
Buck/Boost unit that AERL has been manufacturing for the past 10 years.

It is a new high current, high efficiency, boost-only Race-Trim Mini MaximizerTM that can be
used with all solar cell types, but was specifically designed to handle the 5.5A Sunpower Cells –
which so many teams now use. This new 600W BOOST unit is much more powerful and
efficient, so that 3 units will be adequate for the whole car.

AERL Background

After the AERL success in the 1990 Australian World Solar Car Challenge, winning the lead-
acid battery category and placing 6th outright in a field of 36, as well as supplying 8 of the first 11
vehicles with MAXIMIZERSTM, AERL received many requests to design a customized
MAXIMIZERTM especially for solar racing car applications.

Thanks to AERL’s custom control modules, developed over the last 22 years and now used in
100% of our products, our RACE-TRIM MINI-MAXIMIZERTM products are an exceptionally
compact and lightweight range of PV power trackers with efficiencies of around 99%.
