                               Laucala Bay + Leleuvia Island, Fiji Islands


Venue & Dates
The 2009 Hobie Cat 16 South Pacific Championships will be held from friday 26th June – Saturday 27 June sailed in Laucala
Bay, Suva and the Suzuki Fiji Hobie challenge from Monday 29th June to Friday 3 rd july 2009. The Fiji Hobie Challenge will
be held on the waters off the South Eastern Coast of Viti Levu, Originating and returning to Laucala Bay.

Organising Authority
The Organising Authority is the Fiji Hobie Class Racing Association (FHCRA) and the Fiji Yachting Association.

Rules
The 2009 Hobie Cat 16 South Pacific Championships and Fiji Hobie Challenge will be governed by the 2009-2012
International Sailing Federation Racing Rules, the 2009-2012 International Hobie Class Rules, and this Notice of Race ,
except those that are altered by the Sailing Instructions. The English text of this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions
will prevail.

Eligibility
The ISAF Competitors' Eligibility Code applies (ISAF Regulation 19). Skipper and crew members must be a paid-up member
of a National Hobie Class Association or Hobie Fleet in good standing with the IHCA.

Advertising Category
The 2009 Hobie Cat 16 South Pacific Championships shall rank as a Category C event in accordance with ISAF Regulation
2009. The boats shall display advertising of the event sponsor(s) as required by the Organising Committee. Individual
sponsorship conflicting with the event sponsor's business category shall not be allowed.

Entries shall be made on the Official Entry Form only and returned by Email or fax to (679) 300866

Scoring System
For the South Pacific Championships The low point scoring system will apply. ISAF RR Appendix A and IHCA Class Rule 22.
For the Fiji Hobie Challenge the lowest elapsed time wins

Jury
A national Jury panel shall be appointed by the FHCRA for the event.

Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be made available at registration.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the the First , Second and third places

Competitors' Insurance
All competitors entering the race shall have third party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of F$ 100,000.00.
Competitor’s proof of insurance and coverage must be provided at registration.

Entry
Entry is on a first come first serve basis and priority will be given to those who enter both events. Fleet 252
has a limited number of ex-2007 World’s boats available for charter so you will need to be in quick
to secure a boat.
Entry forms must be received by 15 May 2009 along with the fee deposit as nominated on the entry form. If
payments are not received by the due date the entry will be deemed to have been cancelled. Late entries may
be considered, subject to availability of boats and accommodation. A 10% penalty will apply to late
registrations up to 30 May 2009, thereafter a 20% penalty will apply.

Costs
Costs and payment arrangements are detailed on the entry form. All competitors must hold public liability
insurance for the duration of the event. This will be available for purchase at registration.

Cancellation
Cancellations prior to 15 May 2009 will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be made after 30th May 2008.
Payments may, however, be transferred to another party.
