Bruce Grey seniors invited to qualify for 2009 Winterfest Games
District 27 Bruce-Grey Winterfest senior games coordinator Ian Rutherford announced today that seniors
in Bruce and Grey counties are being invited to qualify for the Ontario Senior Games Winterfest games to
be held February 11-13, 2009 in Brockville. To qualify a person 55 years of age and up and resident of
Bruce or Grey County will first need to be successful at a District 27 competition in one of the ten
sanctioned events listed below. Deadline for individuals and teams to register for the District competitions
is October 24, 2008. District 27 will offer District competitions in November 2008 where registrations are
sufficient. Event dates and locations will be announced in early November. Winter games event
conveners have been arranged for curling, hockey, alpine and Nordic skiing and conveners are still

6. Nordic Skiing                 Singles: Men’s & Women’s
(5km. Prediction Event)          Team: Open

7. Skating                       Singles: Men’s & Women’s
(3km. Prediction Event)

8. Table Tennis                  Doubles: Men’s, Women’s & Mixed
                                 Age Category: 55+

9. Ten (10) Pin Bowling          Open Team

building and provides support for the 40 Districts and receives funding from the Ministry of Tourism and
