							The second annual conference and exhibition on fuel cells and hydrogen
                    economy in the Middle East
                                            Call for papers
“The roadmap for Fuel Cells and Hydrogen generation in Middle East”
    I.       Invitation:
             Middle East Forum on Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Economy (MEFH) is pleased
             to invite the submission of papers to the MEFH-2006 which will be held in
             Moevenpick hotel, Bahrain, on December 5-6, 2005.

             MEFH-2006 will bring together manufacturers, oil and gas company
             executives, government officials and policy makers, scientists and engineers,
             and academicians from around the world and the Middle East to exchange
             ideas and information on the advancements of the fuel cell (FC) and H2
             generation technology and to also discuss ways and means to engage the
             Middle East in the utilization and commercialization of the fuel cells. The
             conference will feature invited presentations and keynote speakers.

             On Monday, December 4th, there will be a pre-conference seminar for the full
             day with a special registration. The seminar will cover the basics of fuel cell
             technology, different types (PEM, SOFC, etc.) and their best applications, and
             methods of generating hydrogen.

    II.      Topics:
             •    Fuel cell technology overview.
             •    What and why hydrogen economy?
             •    The role of Middle East in accelerating fuel cell utilization in practice and
                  its commercialization.
             •    Hydrogen Venture Capital prospective.
             •    Investment opportunities in fuel cell start-up companies and pre-IPO
                  (Initial Public Offering).
             •    Middle East Oil and Natural Gas companies prospective.
             •    Hydrogen production, storage, infrastructure, and safety issues.
             •    Transportation applications.
             •    Stationary and residential applications.
             •    Back-up and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) applications.
             •    Portable and military applications.
             •    Recent breakthroughs in fuel cell technology.
             •    H2 technology and environmental issues.

    III.     Submission Instructions:
             1. We can accept only *.PDF or *.doc format.
             2. An electronic copy of the paper must be emailed as an attachment to
                papers@me-fuelcells.com by 30 September, 2006.
             3. Use single spacing for body text.
             4. Time or New Times Roman font and 12 point type.
             5. Author name(s) and affiliation should be centered, plain text, starting three
                spaces below the title. The affiliation should be below the author's name.
             6. Include pictures, tables and figures within the paper, not on separate
                pages.
             7. There are no length requirements or restrictions. However, your paper will
                ideally be between 600 and 2000 words.
             8. List all references at the end of the paper, ordered alphabetically by first
                author, including the publication year in parentheses.

    IV.      Review Criteria:
             1. The paper does address the conference theme.
             2. Materials are original and not published or presented elsewhere.
             3. Clear and logical presentation includes adequate grammar and correct
                spelling, and figures and tables are understandable.

    V.       Deadlines:
             The schedule for review is:
                • 30 September, 2006: Submissions of papers.
                • 21 October, 2006: Notice of acceptance.
                • 11 November, 2006: Final paper in camera-ready form due.
