information on Substance Misuse Services in Bournemouth.

It offers advice and information to anyone who is concerned about their own use of drugs,
alcohol and/or other substances or is concerned about a partner, family member or
friend.

If you have a complaint or concern about a drug and/or alcohol service you have received in
Bournemouth, there are a number of ways to voice your concern or complaint:

All Providers in Bournemouth should have a complaints system in place detailing the ways to make a complaint,

                              How to find Help


The National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse outlines treatment into Categories.


       Tier   One     –   Agencies that provide a service to anyone regardless of their circumstances
       Tier   Two     –   Open Access for Drug and Alcohol Misusers
       Tier   Three   –   Community Structured Treatment
       Tier   Four    –   Residential Treatment Services and Specialist Treatment Services

                               Definitions:
Open Access             means anyone with a drug and/or alcohol problem may refer themselves
                        to receive a service if the Provider determines you fit their criteria for a service.

Triage                  means either an initial assessment or a GP referral Letter, which will identify the service you require. This needs
                        to be completed by a Tier Two (Open Access) Service Provider or your GP.

Bournemouth             means a group of individuals trained to complete the Comprehensive Assessment.
Assessment Team

Comprehensive           means a full needs assessment to confirm the level of treatment service you require,
Assessment              identify the choices of treatment available for your level of need and any additional support needs

Care Co-ordinator       means an individual who will co-ordinate the support you require and
                        look at your needs after treatment.

Structured Treatment    means Tier Three treatment service available in the Community.

Residential Treatment   means Tier Four treatment service with short term accommodation.
