                                             September 8, 2008

The order of business for the regular meeting of the Board of Education for the Mustang Public Schools, Mustang
Education Center/George P. Morris Alternative Education Center, 400 North Clear Springs Road, Mustang,
Oklahoma, 7:00 p.m. shall be as follows:

The Board may vote to convene in executive session to discuss any matter on this agenda for which an executive
session may be held under Oklahoma Law. The Board may discuss, make motions and vote upon all matters
appearing on this agenda. Such votes may be to adopt, reject, reaffirm, rescind or take no action on any agenda
matter.

H. Consent Agenda:

    All the following items, which concern reports and items of a routine nature normally approved at board
    meetings, will be approved by one vote, unless any board member desires to have a separate vote on any or
    all of these items. The consent agenda consists of discussion, consideration and action on the following
    items that the Superintendent recommends be approved.

    1. Approval of the minutes and signing from the special board meeting on Thursday, August 28, 2008.
    2. Approval to add the following to Mustang High School Activity Account # 859:
               “technology equipment and software” to the disbursements.
    3. Approval of the “Use of Facility” request from Cub Scouts Pack 399 to use the Mustang Valley
       Elementary School’s gym on the following dates for pack meetings, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.:
               September 22, 2008                  October 27, 2008            November 24, 2008
               December 15, 2008                   March 23, 2009              April 27, 2009
               May 18, 2009
       and on January 23, 2009, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on January 24, 2009, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
       There will no cost for use of the facility.
    4. Approval of after school tutoring for third grade students who are not reading on grade level, including
       hiring of coordinators/tutors at each elementary site. Costs will be incurred by Reading Sufficiency
       monies at an estimated cost of $28,000.00.
    5. Approval for the MHS DECA advisor, a teacher chaperone and students to attend the DECA Fall
       Competition in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, November 10-11, 2008. Each student will pay for his/her
       expenses. The advisor’s and teacher chaperone’s expenses will be incurred through the Marketing
       Incentive funds and DECA Activity Account # 864.
    6. Approval for the MHS DECA advisor, two (2) teacher chaperones and students to attend the DECA State
       Career Development Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 22-24, 2009. Each student will pay for
       his/her expenses. The advisor’s and teacher chaperones’ expenses will be incurred by Marketing
       Incentive funds.
     7. If students qualify in events during the State competition, approval for the MHS DECA advisor, additional
        teacher chaperones and students to attend the DECA International Career Development Conference. It
        is in Anaheim, California, April 28-May 2, 2009. Each student will pay for his/her expenses. The
        advisor’s and teacher chaperones’ expenses will be incurred by Marketing Incentive funds.
     8. Approval for two (2) MHS students to run for state DECA office. If a student wins an office at the State
        Conference in February, he/she will be required to attend the International Conference in Anaheim,
        California, April 28-May 2, 2009. Each student will pay for his/her expenses.

I.   Approval or Disapproval of Activity Fund Report and Encumbrances, and Discussion of the Budget:

     9. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the Year 2008-2009 General Fund (11) encumbrances #
        516-770; payroll encumbrances # 50204-50245; Building Fund (21) # 23-27; Child Nutrition (22)
        encumbrances # 150-166; payroll encumbrances # 50002-50004; Bond Fund (32) # 73-96; Bond Fund
        (35) # 14; Bond Fund (36) # 30-34; Bond Fund (38) # 6; and change orders.

J.   Business:

     10. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the employment of a contracted speech language
         pathologist for up to two days per week for the 2008-2009 school year, pending receipt of all the required
         certification.

     11. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the revision to the “Parent Authorization to Administer
         Medication” form per Board Policy # AR5045.3, waiving the thirty (30) days of consideration.

     12. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the agreement between MPS and Oklahoma Office
         Systems to lease a new Konica-Minolta Bizhub 920 series copier for the Print Shop at the Administration
         Building with an annual cost of $11,524.08, plus overages.

     13. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the proposed retired teacher scale.

     14. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the revision to the Director of Technology’s salary
         schedule for the 2008-2009 school year.

     15. The Board will discuss, consider and/or act upon the approval of the estimate of needs for the 2008-2009
         school year. This item was tabled at the special board meeting, August 28, 2008.

L. Executive Session:

     The Board may vote to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel identified in items # 16-44 pursuant to
     Oklahoma Statute Title 25, Section 307 B1.

     The Board will vote to acknowledge that the Board has returned to Open Session.

M. Personnel Consent:

     16. Resignation of Connie Huffman as a site secretary at Mustang Creek Elementary School for the 2008-
         2009 school year, effective at the end of the work day on September 12, 2008.
     17. Resignation of Diana McClung as a special education teacher assistant at Mustang Trails Elementary
         School for the 2008-2009 school year, effective at the end of the work day on September 3, 2008.
     18. Resignation of Harold Thompson as a 3-hour cafeteria assistant at Mustang High School for the 2008-
         2009 school year, effective at the end of the work day on August 29, 2008.
     19. Termination of Barbara Kuntz as a 6.5-hour cafeteria assistant at Mustang High School for the 2008-2009
         school year due to abandonment of her contract.
     20. Employment of the following certified personnel at Mustang Education Center/George P. Morris
         Alternative Education Center on a supplemental contract for the 2008-2009 school year, per the
         negotiated 2008-2009 Mustang Education Association Contract:
