Instructions
Please complete the application form with the instructions provided:
1. This form may take you 30 minutes to fill in. You will need the following documents or information to fill in the form.
   - NRIC/Passport

   - Certificates of National Service and Employment, if applicable
   - Academic Scholarships/Bursaries/Other Certifications, if applicable
   - Particulars of Character Referees
2. Application forms must be submitted to MOE_PED_AED_Recruitment@moe.gov.sg
   a) If you are submitting the application form together with the Referee's Report (attached at the back of the application form), please copy your referee in your
       email to the above stated e-mail address.
   b) If your referee prefers to email the Referee's Report to the Ministry separately, he/she is required to indicate 'Referee's Report for <Applicant's name>' in
       the email subject and email to the above stated email address, by the application closing date.
3. If you are a serving officer in the Civil Service, you can submit your application either through your Ministry/Department or directly to us.
4. All information given by you in this application must be true. False particulars or wilful suppression of material facts will render you liable to
   disqualification, or if appointed, to dismissal, and/or appropriate legal proceedings, including imprisonment.
5. All fields, including the Supplementary Information section, are compulsory and must be filled in. Pls indicate N.A. if it is not applicable to you.
6. Incomplete application forms will not be processed.
7. Receipt of the application will be acknowledged.
8. Short-listing is based on merit. The personal information in this form is used for administrative purpose only.

                                                   WORK PROFILE OF AN ALLIED EDUCATOR (COUNSELLING)
Role of an Allied Educator (counselling)
The Allied Educator (Counselling) [AED (Counselling)] works closely with the shool management in setting up school counselling services and provising case
consultations to school personnel and parents. The AED (counselling) will also identify, devise and deliver training programmes for at-rick pupils who need additional
help in the area of social and emotional development, as evidenced by social, emotional and behavioural concerns presented by these pupils.


Target Group
At-risk pupils who need additional help in school (20-30% of student population in school).


Work Profile


System Support
1. Set up a suitable counselling service in school, in consultation with school management
2. Develop strategies for early identification of at-risk pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties for early intervention
3. Devise and implement effective referral system for helping pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
4. Establish network with other professional agencies and relevant social service agencies with a view to easing referrals and accessing specialist concultants
5. Oversee the effective implementation of the school counselling program
6. Develop evaluation strategies and instruments to assess the school counselling program
7. Plan and conduct training in counselling-related issues for staff based on identified needs
8. Plan and conduct training for parents based on identified needs
9. Document counselling work done
10. Keep suitable case records

Consultation
12. Provide professional advice on school counselling matters to school senior management
13. Provide consultation to staff on how to support pupils who have been referred for counselling
14. Guide new teachers in helping at-risk pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties

    distress

    stress management, and coping with grief and loss etc.
