NOTICE OF VACANCIES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified nationals for employment, on contract, at the
Community Mediation Programme, Ministry of Social Development. Contracts not to exceed a period
of (3) years with terms and conditions of employment to be negotiated with the Chief Personnel Officer.
He/She will interview, assess and evaluate clients with a view to determining relevant referral.
To provide advice to clients on procedures pertaining to the Mediation Process.
To assess the needs and problems of clients presenting at Mediation Centres and provide
To interview prospective clients and make assessment on referrals.
To schedule mediation sessions on behalf of clients with Coordinating Assistant.
To adhere to mediation standards and principles at all times.
To interface with the public and provide advice on services provided.
To prepare and maintain statistical data on matters mediated upon and cases referred for mediation
and/or to other agencies and submit monthly reports to Coordinating Assistant.
To submit weekly status reports of work activities of the Sub-Center to Supervisor.
To perform other duties related to job function, which may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
Training in Mediation as evidenced by a Certificate in Social Work or Alternative Dispute
Resolution/Conflict Resolution, with the requisite skills and knowledge in interviewing
techniques/processes. Some experience in dealing with mediation/dispute resolution and in the practice
of social work. Must be computer literate.
