                              GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Project Manager will work with Project Team Leaders to ensure that the
activities required to meet designated goals are identified, monitored and completed
within the necessary time frame. This person will manage project information and ensure
that the status of activities in relation to the project goals is communicated to the
appropriate staff and collaborator(s). The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for
managing project team meetings (agendas and minutes), tracking resources against
budget, identifying risks, facilitating contingency planning and managing collaborators
and outside contractors, as needed.

                        KEY CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
•   Working knowledge of project accounting/budgeting/resource tracking
•   Strong knowledge needed in several of the following areas: Vaccine and biologics
    development, project management, budgetary and financial monitoring and reporting,
    resource tracking and forecasting, cGMP manufacturing, quality control, quality
    assurance and regulatory affairs
•   Experience in working with commercial partners and/or federal government contract
•   Excellent time management/organization skills/team building/conflict
    management/communication (written and verbal) skills
•   Ability to work effectively with members from a wide variety of departments,
    including Business Development, Finance, Research, etc.
•   Ability to work independently and effectively within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary
    team-oriented environment

•   Bachelors degree in science-related field
•   4-7 years of biotech or biopharmaceutical industry experience with at least 3-4 years
    of relevant project management experience
•   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project 2007
•   In collaboration with the Project Team Leader, establish and implement project plans
    and timelines, define project roles and responsibilities for achieving project/corporate
    goals and develop project budgets;
•   Coordinate activities and communication streams, both internally and with external
    collaborators, in order to ensure a logical and expeditious flow of activities;
•   Identify critical path and project risks and facilitate problem-solving, contingency
    planning and decision-making;
•   Working with Finance, track project actuals against budget and address variances;
•   Communicate appropriate financial information to Project Team Leader and
    collaborators, as required;
•   Support the generation of proposals under the direction of Business Development
•   Ensure project reports and other deliverables are completed and provided to
    collaborators and/or other internal decision-makers in a timely manner;
•   Establish and manage relationships with outside collaborators, as required;
•   Manage team meetings;
•   Manage to project priorities;
•   Other responsibilities as required by business needs.
