Stage 2 Water Restrictions- Wakool Shire Council Stage 2 Town Water Restrictions are now in effect across the Wakool Shire. Under stage 2 restrictions you may water Lawns & Gardens from 7am to 9am and 7pm to 9pm on your allocated days as follows: Even numbered houses and those without a number may water on each even day of the calendar month. Odd numbered houses may water on each odd day of the calendar month. A hand held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle, a bucket or a watering can may be used to water during the applicable hours. Manual dripper systems (including micro sprays) Manual dripper systems can be used between the applicable hours on your appointed day. Automatic dripper systems (including micro sprays) Automatic dripper systems can be used between midnight and 4am on your appointed day. Vehicle Cleaning (Private or Commercial) Hand-held hoses fitted with a trigger nozzle or high pressure cleaning device can be used for vehicle washing on a soft surface area at any time on your appointed day. Commercial and Industrial car washes can also be used. Pools and spas A new pool or spa cannot be filled from Council’s water supply. An existing pool or spa can only be topped- up by an automated system or by means of a hand held hose, fitted with a trigger nozzle. Public Areas/Sporting Fields/School Grounds/Caravan Parks/ Hospitals Can be watered during the appointed times or alternatively follow an approved water saving plan (contact Director of Engineering Services on (03) 5887 5007 for more details). Nurseries Can be watered during the appointed times or alternatively follow an approved water saving plan (contact Director of Engineering Services on (03) 5887 5007 for more details). Garden Ponds and Fountains Topping up of garden ponds with a bucket filled directly from a tap is allowed. Dams and Tanks Dams, tanks or like containers must not be filled or have their water added to or replaced unless the water is to be used for in-house domestic, stock, or with written permission from Council. Construction and related activities Only a hose fitted with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle may be used during the construction or repair of any building or works. Cleaning Paving, Concrete and other hard surfaces Cleaning of hard surfaces for health and safety reasons and only when dirt and debris cannot be removed without water; allowed only then by means of a bucket, hand held hose fitted with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle or pressure washer. Window and Building Washing No washing unless necessary as a result of accident, fire, health hazard or other emergency. Building gutters may be cleaned at any time. Mobile Water Tankers A tanker permit from Council is required. Tankers with permits may fill at any time if the water is to be used for fire fighting, construction or in house use. Exemptions Council may consider granting further exemptions in instances that may cause hardship.
