Other Info: We are offering a no cost gym. The equipment is located in the basement of the Youth Centre

used on a sign out basis for the Swan River Friendship Centre (SRFC) tennis courts. Come out and play

Mission Statement/Program Purpose: To provide services which provide direct and indirect services to
those over 60 years of age and the disabled. The goal of these services is to support the safest and highest
possible quality of life for these individuals in Swan River and the surrounding district, enabling them to live
healthy and independent lives in the comfort and security of their own homes for as long as possible.
Programs offered:
    • Monthly Blood Pressure Clinics at 7 sites in Swan River and 2 sites in Minitonas.
    • Congregate Dining Programs at 5 locations in Swan River. Some meals available for pick-up.
    • Lifeline Personal Emergency Response System throughout the Swan River Valley
    • Volunteer transportation and escort services for people needing a ride to medical appointments or
        to do shopping and run errands.
    • Long distance transportation for medical or other appointments. Client pays driver’s expenses.
    • Friendly Visitor and Daily Hello programs for shut-ins
    • Referrals to Fee for Service assistance for housecleaning, yard work, snow removal, etc.
    • Provide information and referral to local programs and services for seniors ie. Home Care.
    • Senior Walking Program available for those 55 plus at Ecole Swan River South School. Offered
        from October 1- March 31 on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm. Free, just come or phone office for a ride

Guides of Canada believes that when girls feel that they are good at something, they are more likely to feel
