Senior Scientist RPC has an immediate opening for a Senior Scientist with experience and education in forensic biology (especially DNA based forensics) and genetic based analyses (including population genetics). The scientist will join a group of 12 molecular biologist/microbiologists providing technical services to clients in industry and government. This is a full-time, permanent position which offers a competitive salary and a complete benefits package including pension, and family medical, dental and life insurance. The Senior Scientist will assume responsibility for a small and recently established and accredited Forensic Biology Laboratory within the group. In addition the scientist will assume responsibility for a large DNA-based traceability project and several related projects. The position requires a team leader skilled in communicating with clients, and motivating and managing support staff. Qualifications The successful candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge and experience in a lab setting. He/she will have a minimum of a doctoral degree (or equivalent work experience) and three years forensic DNA laboratory experience. Experience in the application of population genetics, genotyping and molecular biology to challenges in forensics and life science sectors would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills. They will be highly motivated and self directed with an aptitude and interest for customer service and business excellence.
