THE BIG PICTURE AND HOW YOU'LL BE PART OF IT… The Intermediate Soil Scientist/Hydrogeologist/Environmental Engineer role is a full time permanent position located in our growing I&E Calgary, AB office. This position reports directly to a Contaminated Sites Team Lead. Our Contaminated Sites Group is looking for another self-starter with extensive experience in environmental site assessments and remediation. The successful candidate will independently conceive programs and problems to be investigated and will participate in discussions to determine basic operating policies and to devise ways of reaching program objectives in the most economical manner. Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: As a successful candidate, you will work closely with the location manger and members of the Calgary team to develop the office through: • Project management and successful execution of environmental monitoring programs, environmental site assessments and remediation programs, including the development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets; • Preparation and presentation to clients of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets; • Interpretation of environmental regulations and investigation results to successfully meet the clients requirements; • Mentoring, training and coordination of junior staff; • Communication with clients through verbal and written correspondence which may include presentations; • Quality assurance – responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Contaminated Sites Group; and • Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Contaminated Sites Group. Understand and follow WorleyParsons occupational health and safety procedures. Some of the project work is based in rural areas of Western Canada and will involve field work for extended periods. Qualifications: • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering, Geology or related discipline; • 4 to 10 years (depending on position) of geoscience-related work and academic experience with a strong emphasis on contaminant investigation or remediation, environmental regulations, and projects; • Registration (or be eligible for registration) as either a P.Eng., P.Geo. or P.Ag.; • Exceptional interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues; • Excellent computer and technical writing skills; and • Valid driver’s license is required as the position may involve some travel throughout the province.
