Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Immunologist)
The Clinical Chemistry and Immunology Division of the Hamilton Regional Laboratory
Medicine Program (HRLMP) has a position for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
For this position, we seek an individual with proven expertise in laboratory aspects of
immunology with particular interest in autoimmunity and allergy. The candidate will join
a group of both MD and PhD laboratory professionals to provide Clinical
Chemistry/Immunology service to the HRLMP. The incumbent will be responsible for
research and development, evaluating new methods, training technologists, resolving
analytical issues and providing consultation.
Candidates must have a PhD or MD degree. Fellowship (or eligible for Fellowship) in the
Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent is desirable. However,
candidates who do not hold certification but possess the necessary experience will also be
The successful candidate will be appointed to the Special Professional Staff of St.
Joseph’s Healthcare and the Hamilton Health Sciences. In addition, the candidate will
receive an appointment in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at
McMaster University, at a rank commensurate with experience and level of academic
activity. The candidate will be expected to develop a research program and to participate
in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and continuing medical education activities.
