Curator Talk
‘A Laboratory for Ideas and Their Presentation’
Sunday 17 February @ 2pm
FREE Floor talk
Join Rachel Kent as she discusses James Angus’ engaging and visually playful
sculptures, considering the relationship between natural and built forms and the
historical legacy of modernism. The role of the artistic imagination, and of
computer visualisation, is explored in relation to Angus’ often whimsical,
hypothetical constructions.
Rachel Kent is Senior Curator at the Museum of Modern Art, Sydney. She has
worked with leading Australian and international contemporary artists including
Susan Norrie, James Angus, Lee Bul, Ed Ruscha, Kutlug Ataman, Shahzia
Sikander and Tim Hawkinson. She writes extensively on contemporary practice and
speaks at diverse public events.
Exhibition organised and toured by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia.
This exhibition is supported by the Contemporary Touring Initiative through Visions of Australia, an Australian Government
program and the Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments.
