In keeping with its commitment to assist hurricane-ravaged Grenada’s
rehabilitation, the Grenada Hurricane Relief Committee has for the third time, on
Monday, November 1, 2004, shipped off another 40ft container filled with food,
clothing, toys, medical equipment, tarpaulins and building material to meet the
needs of the people of Grenada. “This totals over 90,000 pounds of non-
perishable food and over 1000 boxes of clothing sent to Grenada since our
campaign began less than two months ago”, says Leonard Wharwood, Chairman
of the Grenada Hurricane Relief Committee.

“The people of Grenada know that the people of Montreal are thinking of them
and they are very grateful, says Gemma Raeburn-Baynes, Public Relations
Officer, The Grenada Hurricane Relief Committee. Word from Grenada is that
they praised the people of Montreal for remembering them in what they fear
could be a "forgotten disaster". The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. the Rt. Hon.
Keith Mitchell, will be in Montreal on Sunday, November 21, 2004 to attend the
next fundraiser “Raise the Roof” Gospel and Classical Concert and to personally
thank the people of Montreal for their generosity.

The Fundraising Fashion Show held Saturday, October 23, 2004 in Montreal
was a tremendous success with over 600 in attendance. Thanks to the
generosity of the people of Montreal, money raised from the fundraising
concert, fashion show and through donations received from the general
public since Hurricane Ivan hit less than 2 months ago totalled $25,000.
Most of this money was put towards the shipment of the three containers
to Grenada which totalled $15,900U.S. ($19,400 Canadian), plus $2,000 was
spent in buying greatly needed tarpaulins to send in the third container.

We would like to encourage the public to attend the next fundraising event
scheduled for November 21 at Trinity Memorial Church, with the Mighty
Sparrow, which will be held under the auspicies of The Prime Minister of
Grenada. It is hoped that a donation cheque to the rebuilding of Grenada
will be handed to the Prime Minister from this event, on behalf of the
people of Montreal.

Thanks Montreal for your continued support and generosity.
