Gotcha_ slips are used by teachers and staff to reward students
Document Sample

☺ Gotcha! slips are used by teachers and staff to reward students who
exhibit positive behaviors in class and around the school. They are
used to reinforce the SSES Code of Conduct.
☺ Gotcha! slips are passed out at the staff’s discretion and include the
student’s name and the name of the staff member. The staff
member also indicates whether the observed positive behavior has
demonstrated respect for self, others, learning or environment.
☺ One half of the Gotcha! slip is taken home and the other is
deposited in the child’s classroom bin.
☺ Each Friday (or the last day of school for the week) the classroom
teacher is to draw one name from the classroom bucket. This name
is to be sent to the office before recess. Administration will visit
each classroom and award the winner a Gotcha! pencil.
☺ All Gotcha! slips for each month will be paced in a bucket at the
office. The goal is to fill up the school bucket as quickly as possible
demonstrating that we are a ‘bucket filling school’.
NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE CONSISTENTLY REINFORCE AND
ACKNOWLEDGE POSITIVE BEHAVIORS. AIM TO PASS OUT 3-5
GOTCHA! SLIPS EACH DAY!
