Britannia Power and Sail Squadron

Squadron Dues Increase, AGM 2009, Motion 1

TAKE NOTICE that the following motion will be presented by the Treasurer, Stuart
McNeely, to the Britannia Power and Sail Squadron 6 th May 2009,

BE IT RESOLVED THAT … Britannia Power and Sail Squadron membership make an
application for a Squadron dues increase of $4.00 (to $12.00 from $8.00), to be applicable
from the next membership year (2010 -11).

RATIONALE:
This application will follow the procedure established by CPS, and with agreement a
motion to this effect will be taken to the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

In spite of careful use of our resources, the costs as s increased.
Students pay for their materials, but the rental of accommodation, the cost of materials and
equipment for our instructors, costs associated with promotion of our activities, and other
costs have risen. Currently, our Squadron dues are among the lowest in the country, and
even with an increase of four dollars, they will continue to be well below the average.
