 Some frequently asked questions about EZY-JAMB:

Q: Will the drywall mud crack when you shut the door?

A: No, it will not if it is installed in accordance with the
installation instructions. The reason why the mud does not
crack is because EZY-JAMB is screwed every 8” all the way
around the door frame which makes it an integral part of the
wall. Testing has been conducted to prove this.


Q: What is the minimum & maximum wall thickness?

A: The minimum wall thickness with EZY-JAMB is 3-3/8” and the
maximum is 8-3/4”.


Q: What door width and height can be used?

A: EZY-JAMB can accommodate any door width up to 9’ wide and
up to 12’ high.

Q: What is EZY-JAMB made from?

A: EZY-JAMB is made from cold rolled galvaneal product which is
galvanized steel that has been through an annealing process so
it can be painted.


Q: How do you paint EZY-JAMB?

A: EZY-JAMB can be finished with the same primer and paint that
is used on the walls


Q: Does EZY-JAMB come pre-finished?

A: Yes it is available in a powder coated finish.


Q: Are the hinges on EZY-JAMB mortised in.

A: The hinges on EZY-JAMB are not mortised into our frame,
because EZY-JAMB has a clean line down the edge of the frame
that you mud up to. If we mortise into that line we lose the clean
line look. EZY-JAMB supplies a unique, high quality stainless
steel ball bearing hinge that can be surface applied to keep the
clean line look.

Q: Can EZY-JAMB be punched for T-strike and ASA strike?

A: Yes EZY-JAMB can be punched for both T-strike and ASA
strike. The T-strike is standard and a stainless steel striker plate
and plastic insert is included in the price of a door frame.

Q: How do the top corners join?

A: The corners of EZY-JAMB join together with an alignment
insert which is already installed in the frame.


Q: Is EZY-JAMB fire rated?

A: Yes EZY-JAMB is fire rated up to 90 minutes and has been
tested to positive pressure.
