Application for approval
The school has the resources necessary to implement this program of study and agrees to apply the Principles of
assessment as outlined in the study area specification, and to follow the procedures and conditions set by the
Queensland Studies Authority, for approval of the study plan and certification of student achievement. The timetabled
school time devoted to the study and assessment of this subject is a minimum of 55 hours per semester.

The study area core is integrated into the electives.

   Electives (220 hours)
Indicate on this form the electives that the school proposes to offer. Four to eight electives are to be selected.
Provide an outline of the sequence in which this course is taught, showing the approximate time to be spent on each

The study area core is explored through the elective topics that provide focus and context.
A balance of the three dimensions must be ensured across the course of study; however there may be more emphasis
on a particular dimension in any one elective. Indicate the ratio of emphasis placed on each dimension of the core in
each elective.
Schools wishing to include a school-based elective are required to submit a sample overview of the elective with their
study plan (Refer to Study Area Specification, section 6.16).
