                                                 “It is amazing that just one man’s vision helped so many children,” said Traci Ramos,

                                                 “There is only one true leader of Girls and Boys Town, our founder, Edward J.
                                              Flanagan, the man who inspired Americans to think differently about the needs of chil-
                                              dren,” said Father Steven Boes, Girls and Boys Town Executive Director. “The reason all
                                              of us are here is to give the gift of his dream to a new generation of hurting children.”
                                                 Ramos led Girls and Boys Town in a celebration at Wegner Middle School in his
                                              honor. During the celebration, Wegner Middle School students read passages writ-
                                              ten by Father Flanagan and a winning essay explaining Flanagan’s legacy, Monsignor
                                              Peter Dunne, the only living priest to work with Father Flanagan, spoke of his experi-

   The 2005 Tilly’s Charity Golf Tournament raised
$43,000, making it possible for Girls and Boys Town of
Southern California to convert one of its group homes into
the Baby Home. The Baby Home has now been open for
nearly one full year, providing help, healing and hope to
Southern California’s youngest at-risk children.
   This year’s event consisted of a shotgun-start golf tour-
nament, a silent auction, a superb dinner, remarks by a
special recent Girls and Boys Town alumnus, and a con-
cert in song by children from the Tilly’s Baby Home.
   Companies represented among the foursomes included
Quiksilver, Roxy, O’Neill, Nike and many more.
   Girls and Boys Town of Southern California provided
help, healing and hope to 1,286 children and 261 fami-
lies through Residential Services, Short-Term Residential
