About The Art Exhibition

Visual artists from the Cassowary Coast Region are invited to submit 1 work (max. size
121cmx90cm) in any media that explores the theme, Music and Theatre. This may
explore the representational, for example, musical instrumentation, dance, sound,
movies, drama, movement in various contexts or other subject matter that addresses
Music and theatre.

These works will be displayed at the Con Theatre Foyer, McGowan Drive Innisfail, from the
opening afternoon of 8th November 2009 until 20th November 2009.

                                     Conditions of Entry

*The entrant is responsible for delivery, hanging and insurance of all works. Proper
packaging of the work is the responsibility of the entrant. Entry fee is $5.00 per artist.

*Works can be made available for sale. All Sales must be attended to by the artists with
contact details and prices supplied in the programme. No commission will be made by
the organisers on sales.

*Presentation All art work must be wall mounted and well presented, framed accordingly
& ready for strong & safe hanging. That is with D-rings, screws (approx. 1/3 down from top)
and picture wire must be attached to all presented wall mounted works. (Use of
substandard materials like string, fishing line, tapes, staples etc. will not be accepted.)
**Please note – No sculpture will be accepted for this competition.

*The Size of an artwork is restricted due to limited space in the Con Theatre Foyer. A
selection process maybe necessary due to the number and size of works received.

*On delivery all works must be clearly marked on back with: the artist’s name, address,
contact phone number, title of work, medium and sale price (‘inc GST’ if applicable).
(See attached list for use) Works that are not for sale must be clearly marked on the back
with other appurtenant details. Also provide any instructions for special display
requirements and/or typed artist statement for display & attach to artwork. The artwork will
be hung at the discretion of the organizing committee.
*All selected and unsold works will be held for the duration of the exhibition, 8th
November 2009 until 20th November 2009. On it’s completion organizers will provide
access on Saturday 21st November from 9.00am - 12.00 noon for artists to remove works.
Works still not collected by that date, will be deemed the property of Innisfail Art Society
Inc.
