					Income Characteristics -- Northern Virginia
The tremendous wealth of the region is reflected in the following income data. According to 2006 estimates, Arlington leads the region in per capita income,
and Fairfax County leads the region in median household income. Nationally, Fairfax County and Loudoun County rank first and second respectively in
median household income. Nationally, 18 percent of households have incomes over $100,000, compared to 45 percent in Northern Virginia. At the other end
of the spectrum, 25 percent of households in the U.S. have incomes under $25,000, compared to 9 percent in Northern Virginia.
