Impact of TB Status* on Marketing Costs
*Under MA status, all feeders must be individually tested within 60 days of sale to sell across state border. *To sell heifers across state borders, they either need to be spayed or have a Whole Herd TB test.
Check for import requirements of each state where your feeder cattle may end up at for additional requirements. This sheet will permit estimation of TB testing impact on costs to market feeder cattle. Two main assumptions for marketing are modeled: Whole herd and feeders Whole herd and feeders simulates sale of individual TB-tested steers and intact heifers with a Whole Herd TB test. The sheet has an option to simulate same day testing for whole herd and individual or separate dates. Whole herd and feeders columns are in light pink. Feeders only simulates sale of individual TB-tested steers and spayed heifers (including spaying costs). Steer only column gives usable estimates and is required for calculations. Information on costs and herd structure is in light brown. Fields in blue are designed to customize the estimate. All other cells are protected.
