Welcome to your personal Energy Savers Report. We’ve created this report using information that you gave us in the questionnaire you completed. It rates your energy use compared with other households with similar characteristics and indicates how environmentally friendly your home is. We’ve also tried to identify the key areas where your costs could be reduced and included some innovative ways for you to save energy.
Breakdown of current running costs

Your Report Explained
Energy rating
An energy rating for your home is like a miles-per-gallon figure for a car, the better your rating, the more energy efficient your home. This could mean lower fuel bills and less of an effect on the environment. Our energy-rating scheme goes from A to G; with ‘A’ being the best and ‘G’ being the worst. You should look out for the same energy rating when buying white goods like fridges and household appliances.
Environmental rating
When fossil fuels are burnt, carbon is released as a by-product into the atmosphere. So when you use gas on your hob, carbon is created as a byproduct. These carbon emissions contribute to global warming. That’s why it is important for all of us to be as careful with energy use as we can. The more careful everyone is, the fewer fossil fuels will be used.
Recommended improvements
These are the top four improvements that could help you save on your fuel bills and help decrease your household's impact on the environment. The annual savings shown are for the individual item, the combined savings shows how much you could save by taking all energy saving measures. Improvements with a long ‘Payback Period’, like double glazing have other benefits as well as reducing your heating bills. These could include improvement in aesthetics and reduction in noise. Quality of advice given
Figures quoted for energy ratings, savings and costs are approximate as the calculations do not cover all the energy details in your home and are based on standard occupancy patterns. You may also find that the estimated savings and predicted running costs following improvements do not add up. This is normal and due to the approximations made. The quality of advice given also depends on the completeness and the accuracy of the information you have provided.
Recommended Savings from British Gas
Please find below more information on your recommended improvements
Cavity Wall Insulation
Many houses built between 1932 and 1982 were built with a gap between two levels of the outside brickwork. These are known as cavity walls and if the gap isn't insulated you could be losing up to 33% of your home's heat (Source: Energy Saving Trust, August 2005). Cavity wall installation requires professional equipment and knowledge from a qualified expert. British Gas provides low cost subsidised cavity wall insulation. For a no obligation quote call 0845 971 7731 quoting RLF9. If you receive income or disability related benefits you may be able to get free insulation through our ‘here to HELP’ programme. If you think you may qualify call 0845 605 2535 for details. Lines are open 8am8pm, Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. Calls may be monitored and/or recorded for quality assurance.
We work with Currys offering reduced prices on selected 'A rated appliances. See your local Currys store for details or visit www.currys.co.uk.

Replace a boiler over 15 years old
British Gas recommends that you should consider replacing your gas central heating boiler every fifteen years. Whilst boilers beyond this age can often still function, their effectiveness and efficiency becomes reduced. In a house with average insulation, if you replace a 15 year old boiler with a new condensing boiler and heating controls, you could save as much as 40% on your heating bills. (Source: Energy Saving Trust, July 2005). A British Gas engineer could do this for you. For details of British Gas central heating services please call 08457 754 754 quoting CF19. Lines are open 7am-9pm seven days a week. Calls may be monitored and/or recorded for quality assurance.
