The core organisers had held several preliminary meetings in late 1999 and had put together an interesting introductory program. U3A Adelaide Hills was up and running and is still maintaining its forward impetus with new courses each term to keep our members interested and entertained. We hope to mark our tenth anniversary with a celebratory event during the year, and perhaps hear from, in a suitable venue, some of those members who got our association underway. Many of them are still heavily involved in running courses and have worked hard over the years to ensure that our U3A moves forward. Your present committee has been busy putting together next term’s program. We miss Anne Lewis, Dawn Thorp, and Chris Anders-Tritt from our deliberations. They have given so much of their time, administrative skills, and organisational expertise to the running of U3A. Fortunately, they are willing to help with sensible advice when it is sought. We welcome Carole Jones, Marg Whelan, and Margaret Sarre to the committee. They are already heavily involved in preparation for the new term and bring fresh thinking into our discussions. And a very big ‘Thank You’ is due to all those Course Organisers, Course Presenters, and Tutors who are working overtime to get this program out to our members so we can all plan for the year ahead. A Happy Christmas and New Year to all our members. Enjoy Term 1! Frank Allen Chair We were very sorry to hear of the death of Dr Peter Brummitt in December. Peter was a long time member who had served on the Management Committee. Our sympathies go to Barbara and to their family.
