PARENT & STUDENT TIPS TO PREPARE FOR TESTING
Please follow the suggestions below to help your child do his/her best on the Achievement Test during April 30th through May 7th. Talk with your child about the importance of this event and how these simple suggestions can help them do their best. Rest and good nutrition are very important for successful results. Please make sure that your child eats a good breakfast and is well rested. 2. Be sure that every effort is made for your child to be in school everyday. 3. Make every effort to create a stress free environment for your child as they prepare to come to school. 4. Remind students of these testing tips: A. Answer easier questions first. B. Skip questions you do not know the answers to and return to them later. C. Read all answer choices before choosing your answer. D. Look back at the reading selection to find answers. E. Go back and check all of your work. 1.

In the afternoon the students will have specials plus each teacher has planned relaxing activities for the students. These activities may include art, movies, listening to books, extra recess, etc.
No classes will be conducted on test days but teachers may spend a portion of the afternoon reviewing testing skills. There will be no homework, but this would be an excellent opportunity for students to catch up on assignments missed due to absences.
Incentives for Testing Days
1. Group breakfast. 2. No homework during testing days. 3. Drawings for students with perfect attendance (on the days of testing). 4. Extra free time on days of testing. Includes movies, crafts, games, art projects, etc.
