2007 Sound Scholarship Recipients Announced
Congratulations to our 2007 Sound scholarship winners! The 2008 scholarship application is currently available online at soundcu.com. Brian Richardson: Gig Harbor High School. Keith Predmore Memorial Scholarship.
By participating in Sound Credit Union’s Skip-A-Pay program, you request that Sound defer your loan payments as indicated. You agree and understand that: 1) FINANCE CHARGES will continue to accrue at the rate provided in your original loan agreement, during, and after that time; 2) deferring your payment will result in you having to pay higher total FINANCE CHARGES than if you made your payments as originally scheduled; 3) the payment deferral will extend the terms of your loans(s) and you will have to make extra payment(s) after your loan(s) would otherwise be paid off (excludes certificate-secured loans, which require a new loan to be executed upon maturity of certificate); 4) you will be required to resume your payments the following month; and 5) a fee of $29 will be deducted from your savings or checking account for this service at the time the request is processed. If you elected GAP or warranty coverage, the coverage will not extend beyond the original maturity date. All deferrals are subject to Sound Credit Union approval. Your loan(s) must be current (have no amounts past due) to accept this offer. Certain restrictions apply. Excludes Sound real estate secured loans and lines of credit. Loan must be established for six months before Skip-A-Pay can be used.
Know Where Your Money Goes:
If cash seems to disappear from your wallet, now’s the time to find out where it’s going. Becoming aware of cash flow will help you reduce wasteful spending and leave more money in your pocket for important goals and expenses. There are several good methods you can use to track spending: u Carry a small notebook and record the details of each purchase you make. At the end of the day, total what you’ve spent. You’ll soon have a good idea of where those $40 ATM withdrawals really go. u Keep receipts from each of your purchases and tally them up daily. It may not be absolutely precise, but it will be close enough to be revealing. u Use a debit card for all or most of your shopping. Every purchase and
Track Your Spending
cash withdrawal will be noted on your statement. Review it regularly. u Use expense-tracking software. After monitoring your spending for at least a few weeks, enter the information into a long-term expense tracking system. A few months of doing so and you’ll have an accurate picture of where your cash is going. Once you know what your current spending habits are, you can make realistic financial decisions to better your future. Need more help tracking? As a benefit of membership at Sound, you have access to personal financial counseling at no charge through BALANCE. A counselor can review your budget in detail, and provide suggestions on how you can make the most of every incoming dollar. Call BALANCE at 888-456-2227, or visit www. balancepro.net.
