- Any abbreviations used must be from the Standard Abbreviations document only.
- All Fax and Mobile listings MUST have the word FAX or MOBILE included in this field on single listings. All
Premium Rate listings must state “Premium (higher) rate charges apply” in this field.
Sub Headers are used to sub-divide groups into different departments or divisions etc, where there is
more than one telephone number for that department, e.g. Accounts, Sales. Address details or telephone
numbers are not included in this field.
Sub Headers appear below the main header (the business trading name), but above the listings.

-This field is used to distinguish a specific department where only one number exists for that department, e.g.
Sales, General Enquiries, etc. This data will appear before any address data on the listing.
-Business Fax or Mobile group listings MUST have the word FAX or MOBILE included in this field if an address
is not provided. All Premium Rate listings must state “Premium (higher) rate charges apply” in this field if an
address is not provided or other data is not present in the Qualifier field.

address is provided or other data is to be entered in the Qualifier field.

-The Partial Address (PA) facility on OSIS was implemented to comply with Data Protection legislation. Allows
customers, ON REQUEST, for reasons of privacy or sensitivity, the right to include limited or no address
details within their directory listing.
 - Types of customers protected by this legislation include, Individuals (Residential customers, Sole Traders,
Partnerships), Women‟s Refuges, Violent Assault Clinics, Bailiffs, Research Laboratories, etc.
 - When a PA listing is requested, the customer can choose to omit one, several, or all of the address fields
from their listing, including the Premises Name/ Number, Street, Locality and Postcode. The customer can opt
to include their full postcode, a partial postcode, or no postcode in their listing. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR
CUSTOMER ON THEIR CHOICE. NOTE: Postcode details are still required so that BTWDS can determine the
correct DQ (area) for the listing on OSIS. IF THE POSTCODE IS NOT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE LISTING,
THIS MUST BE STATED ON THE FORM.

- XDNC: Ex-Directory No Calls just XD? listing will feed to Voice 118 services but telephone number is withheld.
Only one XDNC listing per customer per address is permitted if no other number is shown at the same address.

- Res: Residential tariff listings will appear in the residential file on directory products. NOTE: Business trading
names are not permitted on residential tariff listings.
- Bus: Business tariff listings will appear in the business file on directory products.

        - Single line: If only one number is to be listed for the customer.
        - Group: If more than one number is to be listed for the customer. If other numbers exist for the same customer,
        please enter the telephone numbers the listing is to be grouped with, in the Comments field on the form
        Indicates the typeface for listings in the Phonebook. ONE of the following must be selected …
        -Ordinary
        -Bold
        -Super Bold (only applicable to main group headers)
        Note: If bold or superbold typeface is required, please also note this in the Comments field on the form.

        Listings in a group are sorted in alphabetical order. If more than one listing exists for the same alphabetical
        position they are then sorted numerically.
         A listing can be given a priority which alters the natural alphabetical sortation.
        - A to list first
        - S to list alphabetically
        - Z to list last Listings with the same priority will list alphabetically within their own hierarchy.
        This is a unique identifier for each individual listing and must be completed.
        A new CP/NI Reference will be required for any New, Adopt, or Adopt and Amend orders. The following format
        must be used …
        - Maximum of 20 characters
        - Starts with the last three digits of the CP’s CUPID code
        This is a six-digit figure, issued to each CP by Ofcom, e.g. 000012 ; 000119

        - Main: relates to the first listing for a particular telephone number.
        - Additional: If the same telephone number is to be listed more than once then second and subsequent listings
        will be classed as additional.
        Requests for Additional listings must be clearly stated in the Comments field on the form.
