Maytag, Major Appliance Division, Cleveland, TN                                                     1996-2003
Manager Industrial Design
Managed all cooking category product design and development including Jenn-Air, Amana,
Maytag, and Magic Chef brands. Worked with multi-disciplinary teams on-site and at other
corporate sites, as well as outside consultants and original equipment manufacturers. Developed
project plans, outlined design processes, established timelines and effectively communicated
project priorities to appropriate staff.
     Led the industrial design team to increased efficiency when completing major projects
        within tight deadlines by implementing a “divide and conquer” method of project
        management.
     Received award for innovative design of cooktop that featured ergonomic controls and
        differentiated it from competitors’ products.
     Established a coherent system for identifying ink and paint color specifications, which
        enhanced effective communication with internal and external customers regarding design
        requirements.
     Received patents for over 20 inventions created as part of the product development
        process.
     Managed 2 Industrial Designers and influenced the work of the Model Maker, CAD and
        Engineering teams (approximately 100 employees) by providing design direction and
        support.

Maytag Galesburg Refrigeration Products, Galesburg, IL
                            1987-1996
Project Industrial Designer
Managed Maytag brand design. Involved with various appliance design project teams in
advanced and current refrigeration as well as corporate image projects. Responsible for
managing CAID used for generating images from sketches to production artwork.
      Implemented the computer as a tool for developing production art work, and to speed the
       "art-to-part" process, improving communications with suppliers and reducing time to
       production.
      Received three patents as a result of working in advanced design programs.

Robert Morris Associates, Fort Lauderdale, FL                                                      1982-1987
Senior Industrial Designer
Served as Project Team Leader responsible for two designers and one model maker in a
consultant design and engineering firm that created primarily computer products.
     Created alternative, back-up design based on personal perception of the customer’s
        desires that differed from the team's. This design was chosen by the client as most
        appealing and was ultimately the one produced.

Developed detailed mechanics of plastic molded part designs for digital medical devices. Created
mechanical and electronic designs and layout documentation. Developed corporate image
projects. Provided technical illustrations for product user manuals and presentations.

Designed optical scanners and electronic products. Produced sketches, renderings, drawings,
graphics, models, working prototypes, and photographs.
