Get Counted With the 2010 Census!
It is very important that everyone in Fauquier County be counted for the 2010 Census. By filling out the form with the
correct information, you will help your community see that Fauquier County is represented fairly in the U.S. House of
Representatives. Your vital participation is required to help fund infrastructure, education, and health care programs.
Forms will be mailed to households in March for an April 1st count.

We should also be prepared to see census takers in our community. Please be respectful of the job they have to do –
their work helps Fauquier County! Learn more about the 2010 Census here.


Fauquier County is located approximately 40 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and is part of the Washington D.C.
Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fauquier is bordered by Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties to the west,
Stafford County to the south, Loudoun, Warren and Clarke Counties to the north, and Prince William County to the east.
Fauquier County can be easily accessed by four major highways, including State Routes 28, 29, 55 and 211, as well as
Interstate 66.

Fauquier is comprised of approximately 651 square miles (416,678 acres). The County is home to 21 villages and three
incorporated towns: The Town of Warrenton, The Town of Remington, and the Town of The Plains. The Town of
Warrenton is centrally located and serves as the county seat. The Town of Remington is located in the southern end of
the county, while the Town of The Plains is located in the north.
