    Senatorial and Delegate Scholarships are awarded by the individual legislators. To apply for legislative scholarships
    please follow the steps listed below.
               O Identify the legislative district in which you live by going to www.mdelect.net, by calling the County Board of
                      Supervisors of Elections (listed below), or by looking at your voter registration card.
               O Contact your Senator and all Delegates in your state legislative district for application instructions (list
                 provided on back of this page).
               O The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for consideration for all Senatorial
                 Scholarships. Some Delegates may also require this form.
               O Be aware that if any of your legislators' awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Assistance
                 (OSFA), you must submit the FAFSA to the U.S. Department of Education by March 1 in order to be
                 considered.
   Senatorial and Delegate Scholarships are generally for use at Maryland schools. If you will be attending an out-of-state
   institution studying a program not available in Maryland, you may qualify for unique major status. To determine your
   eligibility:
                     You are responsible for contacting the Senator and Delegates from your legislative district to request
                     consideration for legislative scholarships and to determine if additional information or application is required;
              CI You must submit letter of request for unique major status. Letter must include: name and Maryland address;
                 Social Security Number; name of degree and major; name and location of out-of-state institution, and the
                 academic year of your request;
                     You must attach a copy of the program curriculum from the institution catalog (should include a short
                     description of program and list of required classes); and
                      You must send the information to: Unique Majors
                                                                                       Maryland Higher Education Commission
