Step #1: Go to Card Setup   Step #2: Right-click under
                            Reservation and select Reserve
                                Step #4: Enable the BGP
Step #3: Under Participation,   routing process here
select Xmit and Advertise
Step #5: Configure the IP address
and Gateway of the SmartBits port
Step #6: Hard-code the speed and
duplex of the SmartBits port.
NOTE: It is recommended to hard-
code the speed/duplex on both
ends of the connection
                          Step #8: Click on Apply Default
Step #7: Go to Sessions   Addresses; this will apply the IP        Step #9: Configure the AS # of   Step #10: Configure
                          address previously configured under      the DUT & emulated router        the BGP Router ID
                          the Card Setup
                          NOTE: SmartBits will add 1 to the last
                          octet of the IP address by default
Step #11: Right-click
under State and select
Establish Session
                       Notice the state of the
                       emulated BGP peer
                       change to Established
Step #12: Select BGP
from the drop-down
menu
Step #13: Go to Routes
                         Step #14: Right-click
                         under the BGP session
                         and select New Route
Step #15: Configure the
routes to be advertised by
the emulated BGP peer
                         Step #17: Configure the # of routes to be
Step #16: Click on the   advertised, the Prefix length Distribution,
Route Generator          and the Range of the routes to be
                         advertised by the emulated BGP peer
Step #18: Click on Apply
                           Check the # of BGP
                           routes advertised here
