                                     RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NOTES

Religious education classes will be held this Wednesday, Dec. 9. St. Nick’s Day is this Sunday, Dec. 6,
and the students will receive a St. Nick treat from our ladies of the CCW at class. Thank you to the CCW
for your continued kindness to the youth in our religious education program. This Wednesday the students
in grades 3-11 are to meet in church at 6:30 p.m. for a reconciliation service and a chance to go to
  individual reconciliation.

Next Sunday, Dec. 13, at the 8:45 a.m. mass, the 11th grade class will participate in an enrollment
ceremony to recognize the beginning of their preparation for confirmation.

Please give generously to next week’s second collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious. “As expenses
continue to increase and economic difficulties tighten our income, we appreciate more and more the help of the
Retirement Fund,” notes a woman religious. Your tax-deductible donation supports the care of elderly and frail
religious and helps to provide such basic necessities as prescription drugs and medical services.

Catholics Come Home is an outreach program to welcome Catholics back to church. The
diocese is sponsoring TV ads during Lent to invite Catholics to come home. Our parish’s task
is to be a welcoming community and to demonstrate that we want them to worship with us and
to become a part of our community. There is an organizational meeting on Sunday, Dec. 13, at
6:00 p.m., in the gathering space, with Dr. Kristina DeNeeve of the diocesan office. If you are interested in
welcoming friends and relatives back to the church, please attend this meeting.

The Christmas donation box for donations of non-perishable food items will continue to be in the
gathering space until Dec. 9. We are also grateful for money donations. If you know of any
family/person who would appreciate a Christmas basket, please let Fr. Dave or Deacon Tom know.
Please ask the family if they would accept a basket before submitting its name. Thanks for helping
           make Christmas happier for others.

We will continue to follow flu prevention precautions through December. This includes not distributing wine
