Career Objective

Intend to apply my research abilities, managerial capabilities and skills for improving the livelihood
system through community participation. This shall be carried out in line with the concept of
sustainable development especially in the field of agro-technology of medicinal and aromatic plants
(MAPs).

Research Experience

Experience in developing agro-technological packages and practices for medicinal and aromatic
plants (MAPs) of high altitude. Contributed significantly towards the development of propagation
protocols of a few rhizomatous medicinal plants i.e .Angelica glauca, Arnebia benthamii, Rheum
emodi and Pleurospermum angelicoides with their implication for conservation. Also having
experience in assessment and socioeconomic studies of some selected medicinal plant species of high
altitude in the state of Uttarakhand, India.

The project is financial supported by International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) to
develop operational strategies for sustainable forestry development with community participation in
India. The project aims to implement Criteria and Indicators (C&I) for Sustainable Forest
Management (SFM) in India.
Responsibilities
          Sensitize and enhance capacities of local communities to implement the research design.
          Liaisoning with State Forest Department and research personnel to create conducive
           environment
          Provide technical assistance to the team members.
          Prepare technical documents like manuals/guidelines for communities and forest
           managers for operationalising C&I for SFM.
