Chai Tea - DOC

									Chai Tea

2 cups milk
1 cup water
1-1/2 teaspoon loose tea
A 1-1/2 piece cinnamon stick, broken in half
9 green cardamon pods *, crushed slightly in a mortar and pestle to open
7 whole cloves
A 1-1/2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and cut into chunks
6 black peppercorns
2 Tablespoon sugar, or to taste.

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring ot a boil. Remove from heat, cover and let
steep 15 minutes. Boil again if you want to heat it up more.


* Penzey’s Spice at 635 and Preston (south side of 635) is a great spice source!
