Iain has held numerous PLC, divisional and non-executive directorships across a range of businesses and is a
qualified chartered accountant. His executive roles have ranged from Finance Director, through
commercial and business development roles to Information Technology management. Iain has also
operated as an interim on behalf of major consulting and outsourcing businesses providing senior leadership

Freemans Grattan Holdings Ltd (Otto UK) – Turnaround Programme (2008-9)
   • Supported and advised Otto’s UK board on a major turnaround programme to stop £50m annual
     losses and a 30% pa decline in sales
   • Initially engaged to develop a new business & technology operating model to support the UK retail
     brands (Freemans, Grattan, Oli, Montage & Look Again)
   • Led cost reduction, organisational design and outsourcing activities across many functions of the
     business including IT, contact centres, ecommerce, print management and warehousing
   • Led the selection and design of a new ecommerce and ERP platform to replace legacy mainframe
     retail systems
   • Led the selection and design of a new end-to-end financial services systems and operational solution
     to support the separation of Otto’s financial business from its retail operations.

Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd – E-Commerce Mobilisation (2007)
   • Assisted Lloyds’ with its strategy & planning for the launch of its online channel
   • Implemented robust processes for managing the programme
   • Set up structure and team capable of success.

E.ON UK – B2B Head of Change (2007)
   • Developed a new multi-channel business strategy to grow profit whilst reducing debt
   • Built a 3 year delivery plan and capability to achieve the business’ transformation

  • Completed business review prior to joining the B2C Board to drive recommendations

Xansa PLC & MyTravel Group PLC - Transformation Director (2004/5)
   • Led Xansa's award winning financial transformation programme for MyTravel’s retail businesses

WHSmith Direct - Chief Operating Officer (2003)
  • Led WHSmith's online business from stand-alone dot.com to multi-channel retailer

Asda Wal-Mart: Director of New Channels and Chief Technology Officer (2000-2)
   • Led the development of new channels including Asda.com, Sky interactive TV and call centre
   • Designed & implemented a new a fulfilment operation from stores to allow closure of 2 depots
   • Added over £20m pa to sales and turned a major annual loss into a profit in just 18 months.

Asda Wal-Mart: Integration Director (1999/2000)
   • Led the integration of all finance and back office operations following Wal-Mart acquisition
   • Replaced almost every core system in the business 130,000 colleagues.

Asda Group: Director of Internal Audit and Loss Prevention (1998/9)
   • Saved £1m pa by in-sourcing the internal audit team
