Scott County's Annual 4th of July Celebration
The July fourth parade will be held in Georgetown on July 4th beginning at 10 a.m. The
fireworks will be held at Brookings Park, Cincinnati Pike, beginning at 9 p.m. Prior to the
firework display, which is sponsored by Toyota, a few musical groups will play. Event sponsored

Sweet Corn Festival at Evans Orchard and Cider Mill
Come out and enjoy a summer day in the country with your friends and family. Live music begins
at noon and at noon Ronnie Lawson will take the stage. At 2:30 there will be corn-eating and Ale-
8-One chugging contests. Those attending can choose between corn hole games, crafts booths
and hay rides, while the children can visit a petting zoo and the Apple Cider Slider, a multistory
play area. There is also a new attraction that offers the opportunity to see nature at work. A
beehive observatory is being built and hopefully will be finished for the festival. It'll have a
plexiglass window where you can watch the bees at work, and the queen bee will be marked.
There will be plenty of food: corn on the cob, kettle corn, cheeseburgers, rib-eye sandwiches,
snow cones, fried apple and peach pies made from homegrown peaches and apples, and pork
rinds. New this year is ice cream. Fresh vegetables and fruits also available. 180 Stone Road.

Test Events to Provide Free Preview of the 2010 Games
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are little more than a year away, and a sneak preview
will be available this summer when Kentucky Cup Reining and Kentucky Cup Vaulting--the
official test events for the disciplines of Reining and Vaulting--arrive at the new indoor arena at
the Kentucky Horse Park this July.

Kentucky Cup Reining will be the first official test event to slide into the new indoor arena on
July 21. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the Team Competition runs 10:00 a.m.to noon. The
Individual Kentucky Cup Reining Finals will be held the evening of July 23. Doors for the
individual finals will open at 6:30 p.m. and the competition will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Kentucky Cup Vaulting will take place July 30-August 2, and will run each day from 8:00 a.m.to
noon and again in the afternoon from 1:00p.m.to 5:00p.m. Doors will open one hour prior to
the start of competition.

Admission is FREE to all the Kentucky Cup Reining and Kentucky Cup Vaulting events. Parking
for all competitions will be $3 per day at the entrance to the Kentucky Horse Park, and $5 in the
evening.

Kentucky Horse Park Media Day
The Horse in Action featuring live equine demonstrations from a variety of breeds and
disciplines, as well as updates and presentations on the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games
disciplines (including special vaulting demonstrations by some of the country's top athletes who
will be competing at the park in an official WEG Test Event), lunch, tour of the new Indoor
Arena, and much more!
Kentucky Horse Park, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

WHY: There are fewer than 500 days until the start of the largest sporting event ever held in
the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the largest equine event ever held in the United States, the
Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Media Day will provide some of the basic information that
you will want to know to be able to share with your readers, listeners and viewers to help them
understand the world of horse sports and the significance of Kentucky's signature industry.

HOW: Space is limited and restricted to professional, working media, so please fill out and
return the registration form by July 24.

2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Competition Schedule Set
The Games will begin with opening ceremonies on September 25, 2010. The first weekend of
competition (September 25-30) will include Reining competition and Endurance. In week two,
(October 1-10) will include Jumping, Para-Dressage, Driving and Vaulting competition. The
Games will end with closing ceremonies on October 10, 2010. For more information on the 2010

As an added benefit, NBC Sports will extend its coverage of the 2010 Games on September 26th,
adding an extra 30 minutes of Games programming. The broadcast, tentatively scheduled for
noon-1:30 p.m., will feature the opening ceremonies, and highlights from the Reining and
