What do you wish someone had told you when you started your
practice? I wish someone had told me what would be a reasonable
expectation for patients in the first year of opening...I would tell
new practitioners not to take it personally when you are slow. It
takes time so you must be patient - expect to see 5 to 10 patients a
month those first few months. Remain optimistic and keep
marketing! Also, I wish someone had told me about small business
start up info. We have a great resource here in Yakima through our
Chamber of Commerce that offers free services to new businesses
including marketing tools, setting up and using QuickBooks, even

Call for Authors for AANP Web site
The AANP is looking for authors to contribute to the "Your Health"
section of the AANP web site. This is one of the most heavily
trafficked areas of the site, and is a great way for you to inform
consumers about the naturopathic approach to treating disease. All
articles will be featured on the AANP home page, and will be a part
of the permanent library on the AANP site.
Articles should be between 500-700 words and should be written for a
consumer audience at an eighth grade reading level. We cannot
accept articles that endorse specific products or brands.

we've covered before sending in your submissions. To submit an
