EASTERN SHORE OF VIRGINIA HARVEST FESTIVAL. Enjoy an unforgettable afternoon of food, fun
festivities and “Shore” hospitality. Generous portions of Shore cooking, local arts, music and
entertainment will be the highlights of the day. The menu generally includes favorites like clam chowder,
chili, pork barbecue, sweet potato biscuits with country ham, crab cakes, corn on the cob, sweet potato

RUN FOR THE BIRDS 5K & 10K FUN RUN/WALK. Part of the 11th annual Eastern Shore Birding and
Wildlife Festival, this event gives out awards to the top three in each age group: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39,
40-49, 50-59, 60+ and to the top overall male and female runners and walkers. T-shirts are guaranteed to

CHINCOTEAGUE OYSTER FESTIVAL. This event promotes the seafood industry and marks the arrival
of the oyster season. This is an all-you-can-eat affair of oysters prepared many different ways, crabs,
hush puppies, clam chowder, hot dogs and much more. You can also enjoy live entertainment, souvenirs,
raffles and contests. We’ll see you, rain or shine, at Maddox Family Campground. $35 (plus $5 for

THE CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND FALL CRAFT BAZAAR 2007. This two-day event features an array of
handmade crafts, food items, Christmas gifts, paintings, local artisans, jewelry, quilts and much more.

CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND SECOND SATURDAY ART STROLL. In its third season, this cultural event
will occur at participating galleries and artists’ studios throughout Chincoteague. Chat with artists and
watch demonstrations of their art/craft. Refreshments will be served at each location. Art exhibitions and

CHILI CHOWDER COOKOFF. The best chili and chowder you have ever tasted will be prepared on site
behind Don’s Seafood Restaurant. A people’s choice award will be given and Little Miss Chili Pepper and
Little Mister Hot Stuff will be chosen. In addition, a live band, arts and crafts and boat rides will be
