Through intuitive design and performance-driven technology, Dell OptiPlex
desktops can deliver outstanding capabilities in the most efficient design
possible. In addition, we pack every system with business-relevant features
built on direct feedback from customers just like you. The result? Higher
productivity and greater effectiveness, across the board.
Outstanding Power Efficiency and Performance
New Intel® Core™ 2 Duo dual-core technology improves performance while consuming
less power than previous-generation processor technology (single- or dual-core). With
next-generation OptiPlex systems, you’ll continue to enjoy enhanced multitasking with the
power to run multiple and multi-threaded applications — all with industry-leading power
efficiency.
• Take advantage of impressive power savings — OptiPlex systems with Core™ 2
Duo processors consume up to 40% less power than the OptiPlex GX620. *
• Get the speed you need — Next-generation OptiPlex systems with Core™ 2 Duo
deliver up to 30% higher processing power performance over the OptiPlex GX620. *
Dell Energy Smart — Going above and beyond to save power
OptiPlex desktops take power management to the next level with power settings designed to
exceed government regulations. That means your system will consume even less power
than the government allows — helping conserve the earth’s resources as well as your
bottom line.
• Get ENERGY STAR® compliance out of the factory, meeting all regulatory
requirements
• Excellent power management — The BIOS is pre-set to go into sleep state at 15
minutes of inactivity (vs. ENERGY STAR specs of 30 minutes)
• Energy Efficient Power Factor Correcting (PFC) Power Supplies - High efficiency
power supplies can reduce wasted power in the PC and power grid. These power
are designed use power more efficiently and require less line current. This helps
save energy costs and helps reduce the likelihood of power draws which may trip
an electrical breaker. (When compared to some "consumer" PC power supplies,
line current may be reduced 12% or more*)
• Optimize system-level power consumption through intelligent CPU technologies —
Intel SpeedStep™ Technology balances power usage with application demands on
the processor
